Cold Coffee

  1. Base ingredient to prepare Cold Coffee or Cafe Frappé is black coffee or instant coffee mixture and cold milk. It can be double strength or mild or you can add your caramel or chocolate syrup and make your signature coffee. I am a huge fan of cold coffee than hot coffee. Cold coffee with whipped cream on top is truly divine. It is summer and it is a perfect drink with your hot lunch. Here you go…

Preparation time: 5 to 6 minutes
No. of servings: 2
Ingredients:
  • Ice cubes – 1/2 cup
  • Cold milk – 2 cups
  • Refrigerated strongly brewed coffee or black coffee – 1/4 cup (adjust to taste)
  • Sugar – 5 tbsp
  • one small can of fresh whipped cream or 1/2 pint of heavy whipping cream
  • Instant coffee powder – 1/2 tsp
Method of Preparation:
I used 2% milk and ready whipped cream. You can also make fresh whipped cream at home by beating a cup of heavy whipping cream and 1/4 cup of sugar using an electric mixer until a stiff creamy texture is formed. You can add it to your icing cone and top your cold coffee.  You can adjust the sugar level and black coffee according to your taste.
  1. Prepare black coffee and when it comes to room temperature, refrigerate it for about an hour.
  2. Blend milk, brewed coffee and sugar in a blender till you get a foamy, creamy texture.
  3. Now add this to a glass half filled with ice cubes.
  4. Top it with whipped cream and sprinkle some instant coffee powder on top.
